This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how is Oar Health, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively, “Oar,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information collected through oarhealth.com (our “Website”). 

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information that is protected health information (“PHI”) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Any collected information that constitutes PHI is governed by, and will be used and disclosed in accordance with the Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided separately. 

Personal Information We Obtain

We, or our vendors, may obtain information about you that you provide to us through the Website. This may include personal information, such as your name, email address, login credentials, birthday, and state of residence. We may also collect information about your daily activities and certain health conditions, to the extent that you disclose such information to us through the screening tool on the Website. 

Information We Obtain Through Tracking Technologies

We and our vendors may use a variety of tracking technologies, such as cookies, that collect certain information whenever you interact with the Website, such as device identifiers, your IP address, other unique identifier, all of the areas within the Website that you visit, the length and time of the visit,  features you engage with, how you navigate, and your click/touch, movement, scroll, and keystroke activity. We (or other parties) may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different devices and online websites when you use the Services.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies from the Website, including using the browser’s Do Not Track signal setting, but if you do so, you may not be able to access or use portions of the Website, or certain offerings on the Website may not function as intended or as well.

We use your personal information for various purposes, as described when you provide such personal information or including the following:

  • Provide Services. To provide you services, including allowing you to sign up for an account and interact with our screening tool. 

  • Marketing. We may personalize your experience with us by conducting advertising, such as contextual, targeted, or behavioral advertising. For example, this allows us to recommend products you might like or find useful.  

  • Research and Development. We may develop new features and to create new products or improve existing ones, including using personal information for internal purposes related to certain research, analytics, development, demonstration, innovation, testing, monitoring, customer communication, risk management, and administrative purposes. This may include when you participate in surveys or research activities such as academic, commercial, and research study purposes. 

  • Customer Service. We may use your personal information to respond to your requests for technical support, online services, product information or to any other communication you initiate, including requests, inquiries, and complaints.

  • Security and Repairs. We may use personal information for security purposes, such as for loss prevention and to protect against unauthorized disclosure of personal information, as well as detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecuting those responsible for that activity. We also may use personal information for debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality. 

We reserve the right to convert, or permit others to convert, your personal information into deidentified, anonymized, or aggregated data, as permitted by law. 

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information, such as in the following ways:

  • Affiliates and Subsidiaries. We may share information we collect within any Oar member or group (i.e., our subsidiaries and affiliates, including our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries) to deliver products and services to you, ensure a consistent level of service across our products and services, and enhance our products, services, and your customer experience.

  • Service Providers. We provide access to or share your information with select vendors who use the information to perform services on our behalf. They provide a variety of services to us, including billing, sales, marketing, advertising, analytics, research, customer service, shipping and fulfillment, data storage, IT and security, fraud prevention, payment processing, and auditing and legal services. 

  • Protection of Oar and Others. We may also disclose personal information for legal compliance, law enforcement, and public safety purposes. For example, we may disclose to law enforcement, government or regulatory bodies, lawful authorities, or other authorized third parties where disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law, court order, governmental regulations, or other legal process; (b) enforce our Terms of Use, this Privacy Policy, or other contracts with third parties, including investigation of potential violations thereof; (c) comply with applicable law, court order, governmental regulations, or other legal obligations; (d) protect and defend the rights, property or personal safety of Oar (including its agents and affiliates), or the rights or safety of third parties; (e) comply with health and safety obligations; or (f) prevent crime. 

  • Business Transfers. We may also disclose your personal information to prospective or actual purchasers, investors, or successor entities in the context of a contemplated or actual reorganization, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, bankruptcy, or other business or corporate transaction.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.

Your Choices

If you have a registered account, you may update your personal information in your account settings. You may opt out of marketing emails by following the instructions located at the bottom of such emails. 

External Websites

The Website may include links to third-party online services. Once you leave the Website, we have no control over the privacy practices of these external services. The collection, use, and disclosure of your information will be subject to the privacy policies of the external website or services, and not this Privacy Policy. We urge you to read the privacy and security policies of these external services prior to sharing any information, including personal information.

How We Protect Personal Information

Oar takes a variety of technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against accidental or unlawful destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, and no means of electronic or physical storage, is absolutely secure. As such, you acknowledge and accept that we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to, through, or on our Website or via the Internet and that any such transmission is at your own risk.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access the Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Website.

Revisions to Our Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We will provide enhanced notice (e.g., a banner, pop up, or email to you) if we materially change this Privacy Policy. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be effective as of the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page, unless otherwise expressly indicated.

Naltrexone is a prescription medication used to treat alcohol dependence. It is available only if prescribed by a healthcare provider. You should not take naltrexone if you use opioids, including prescription drugs or street drugs that contain opioids, as naltrexone can cause sudden opioid withdrawal. Common side effects of naltrexone include nausea, sleepiness, headache, dizziness, vomiting, decreased appetite, painful joints, muscle cramps, and trouble sleeping. These are not all of the side effects of naltrexone. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effects that bother you or do not go away.
